Athlete Appreciation Week 8

Name: Hadley Kendall

Grade: Sophomore

Sport: Lacrosse

Why did you join: Last year I didn’t play any sports and I was bored. My friend, Maddie, told me I should join lacrosse so I did and I really liked it.

Pre-meet/game/match ritual: I pray before my games.

Special item/snack: None.

Best memory: Getting my first goal last year because that was my first year playing.

Hot take on the sport: None.

Favorite song: “I Thank God” by Maverick City Music and UPPERROOM.

Proudest moment: Seeing the growth in everyone.

Hardest thing in practice: Being able to step up and lead the team. As a captain, it puts more responsibility on you. I don’t take the blame, but if the team is doing bad, I think I should step up and help the team and be a good role model.

Biggest motivation: I’m just grateful for being able to play and I’m blessed to have the opportunity to meet new people and that I’m healthy enough to go out there.

Are you planning on doing your sport in college/future: No, I think once high school is done I’ll be done, but I want my kids to do it.

Our Goal

Your donation will support the student journalists of Liberty High School. For the 2025-26 school year, we are trying to purchase additional cameras and video equipment for our growing media program. We also plan to attend the national journalism conference in Orlando in November 2026.

Lilly Brown, Editor-in-Chief of The Talon
Lilly Brown is a senior, and is the editor-in-chief of the Talon yearbook as well as the social media manager for LHS Publications. This is her third year in publications and her second year as an editor. Lilly is also a part of girls swim, NHS, and Link Crew. Lilly also works at the Renaud outside of school as a gym attendant and front desk worker. In her free time she enjoys going to the gym, reading, puzzling, and playing Sims. Lilly plans on attending State Technical College of Missouri and pursuing a Digital Marketing degree after graduation.
