It is May, which means two things. One, there are two weeks left of school, and two, it is Star Wars Month.
May the 4th is considered Star Wars day, and May is considered Star Wars month. This month also had the release of Fortnite’s new season, and it has been perfect for Star Wars and Fortnite fans alike. Because Fortnite’s new season has a complete Star Wars theme.
What’s new for the new season? The loot pool is blaster rifles only, there are four new Locations, and there are flyable X-Wings and TIE Fighters.
This is the first season in Fortnite ever to remove ammo and ammo crates completely. Blaster rifles do not need ammo, and since this season is a blaster rifle only loot pool there was no need to have any ammo whatsoever. There are two shotgun blasters, four AR blasters, one smg blaster, one pistol blaster, and one sniper blaster. The blasters deal a great amount of damage, which means that it’s smart to carry extra shields and heals.
Fortnite fans are enjoying the new season a lot, including Jaxon Logan (10).
Logan has been enjoying the new season, and says it’s the best season ever.
“I love Star Wars,” Logan said. “I really like the blaster rifle meta. It’s nice not running out of ammo, and I love the sounds the blasters make.”
Outpost Enclave is Logan’s favorite new location.
“It makes me feel like I’m in Mandalorian. I really like the show, and it feels nice having a poi that reminds me of it,” Logan said.
The new locations have been exciting Fortnite fans, especially Star Wars fans. The new locations are Outpost Enclave, a desert location based off of Tatooine. Resistance Base, based off of the Resistance Base from the sequel trilogy. First Order Base, based off of Starkiller Base from “The Force Awakens” film. Finally, there is Vader’s Samurai Solitude, a Star Wars revamp of the old location, Shogun’s Solitude.
Camden Hooten (9) believes that the First Order Base is the best new location.
“Captain Phasma’s Rifle is there, and the medallion is there to, and that thing is op,” Hooten said.
A new season means a new battle pass, and this battle pass did not disappoint. There are a few iconic characters including Poe Dameron, Palpatine, and General Grievous just to name a few. Hooten’s favorite battle pass skin is Grievous.
“He’s overpowered in the Star Wars Trilogy and he’s my favorite star wars character,” Hooten said.
The new season is only a month long, and right after is Chapter 6 Season 4, which is hinted to be a superhero-themed season!
