The yearbook. The only permanent remembrance you really have left of the school year. It holds high school memories, achievements, classmates and teachers.
Towards the end of each year, hundreds of students are collecting at the front of the school, eagerly picking up their yearbook. Although what we don’t see is the many hours of commitment, practice, stress, focus, fun and patience it’s taken the 18 student staff to create this monument, a special piece for all the students to hold onto and see for many years to come.
The students, who receive yearbooks, are quite excited, but imagine the staff who works on the book. They get to piece this memory together to see all their year-long work put into perspective. This day is called “reveal day” and the staff believes this is a year to “never forget.”

Yearbook editor-in-chief, Lilly Brown (12), is specifically on edge for the yearbook this year, because of all the dedication she’s put into making this possible.
“I’ve even kept a lot of things secret from the school to first reveal with the yearbook release,” Brown said. “This year is going to be different from any other yearbook we’ve ever created.”
While this is Brown’s third year being a part of yearbook, this is many others first year and first time getting to feel that excitement for seeing the book for the first time.
“I was first in journalism, and I enjoyed the environment. It was then I was recommended to join yearbook, so I did. And I fell in love with it,” first-year staff member Austin Koehnemann (11) said.
Koehnemann is delighted in being able to participate in this grand reveal.
“The staff and I have been working on this project on computers all year, getting the opportunity to see the physical book copy of our dedication, will also allow us to see all our hard work has paid off.”
The yearbook is going to be one to never forget. Students can pick their copy up beginning Monday, May 12 during lunch in the front lobby of the school. Distribution will continue Tuesday and Wednesday. If any student did not order a yearbook and still wants to buy one, they are $75 and can be purchased at the yearbook table.
