Key Club is starting off this year strong with a Leave No Trace service project. Leave No Trace is an environment clean up project. Students walk around the building picking up trash that they find.
“Voulnteers pick up trash that ends up on school grounds, working together to make the school a cleaner environment,” Loukya Vaka (12), Key Clubs president, said.
Students volunteering for the project find meaning in their service. It gives them the opportuinty to connect with their commuinty and to make an impact on the environment.
“It’s a way of giving back to the community for everything they’ve given us. And it’s a way to help keep our Earth clean,” Ajay Shankar (9) said.
In the chaotic world we live in, it’s important to connect with our communities, and the people around us. Key Club helps to do that. They provide opportunities for students to help those around them. This helps to bring students together in order to benefit those in the community.
“It helps bring people together and create a bond of teamwork and community service,” Shankar (9) said.
