Senior trips have played a big part in the graduates’ after high school experience.
Before the 2000s, seniors began to take trips after graduation and they have gradually become more popular within the past couple of years.
Students from Liberty are no different.
Senior Kate Ragland and her friends have planned to go on a road trip before they all split off to college.
“I think it would be good for us to all hangout for one last time since we are all going to different places,” Ragland said.
Ragland and her friends aren’t the only ones going their separate ways.
Clark Dixon and his friends are trying to plan a float trip to the Lake of the Ozarks this summer before heading off to college next fall.
“We haven’t decided yet, but it sounded like fun,” Dixon said. “A float trip is a fun thing to do.”
Although most seniors go in a group or with family, some decide to adventure on their own.
Lucy Bowen is one of them. Bowen is a triplet to Avery and Elizabeth. Lucy has decided to plan a solo trip to Germany.
Bowen has always wanted to visit Germany since she was little. She had also got her Seal by Biliteracy recently.
“I can experience more by myself and get to pick where I want to go and what I want to do,” Bowen said.
Instead of going by herself, senior Chloe Bostic is going to Alaska with her family this summer.
Bostic has been to Alaska twice before and really liked it. Bostic and her family usually go to warmer places in the summer so she is happy to go somewhere where she can wear sweatpants and sweatshirts.
“I’m excited to see the sled dogs cause everytime we go we have to see the sled dogs,” Bostic said. “I love seeing the dogs cause I don’t have a dog.”
Going on a senior trip before starting the next chapter of your life is a good way to end the high school experience.
