After fighting hard all night, boys varsity soccer brought home the win on Thursday night against Howell North.
With one goal in the first half, and three in the second half, Liberty was able to pull off a convincing 4-1 win.
“We’re pretty quick in the attack. I think our weakness is we can play a little to soft at times but I’m happy with how it’s looking right now,” head coach Philip Luedecke said.
James Naphakorn (11) got two goals in the game, Brendan Lukunka (12) and Gavin Moyers (12) each got one goal, with Jonah Chisholm (9) and Moyers both getting an assist. In goal, Austin Kelly (12) got the win for the team with four saves.
“Honestly we did really good. We were working on like headers and long balls and getting there first,” Naphakorn said.
Luedecke says he is excited to see how this year’s team gels together and to see them continue to work as hard and they can.
Varsity’s record is now 2-2. Their next game is Thursday, Sept. 11 against Francis Howell Central at Central.
