Freshmen Langston LaBrot, Val Pellegrino, and Macailyn Townsend have noticed a big change with their transition into high school athletics.
“It’s just a lot more serious,” Pellegrino said. “The atmosphere is better.”
They both want to pursue their career through high school and college.
Pellegrino is one of the stars on the freshman volleyball team, she led her team to victory against Orchard Farm, setting their record so far at 2-0.

LaBrot is starting to adapt to the mental pressures of high school football, though he’s mentioned that he is ‘locked in.’ The freshman football team has so far trailed a 0-2 record this season.
Townsend is beginning her journey on cross country once again.
“I’m mostly adapting to it well but you have to be to everything on time,” Townsend said.
High school athletics comes with a lot more responsibilities and demanding tasks, dealing with other clubs, new sports opportunities, practices, personal life and school life can really take a toll on your mental health; but it might just all be worth it in the end.
“The goal is to go Division 1, my Mom is always pushing me, Jesus is the reason I’m doing all of this,” Pellegrino said.
We know there are many sacrifices that go into athletic life. It could lead to outstanding outcomes where you’re praised for what you do– these athletes will always remember where they came from and what it took for them to get there.
