Another solemn night for the Eagles; after a never before 3-0 record was broken during last week’s game against North Point, our group is on an unfortunate decline. Though the light is never lost, currently it isn’t soaring.
Zumwalt North blanked the Eagles 25-0 Friday night at the Nest in a game where the offense couldn’t get going.
In the first quarter the atmosphere wasn’t great. Even though our stands were full and the music was loud, our cheers seemed dull and those who did participate weren’t as loud as we’ve seen them during the season. Consequently, Eagles’ performance reflected the flatness of the crowd. The Panthers’ got a 7-point lead after a touchdown and a good field goal.
Now that the group is 3-2, they intend to get the win streak back.

“We made a couple of mistakes but in the end we really pulled through the game,” Joshua Sinnokrak (11) said. “We put in effort, but it wasn’t the best we could do.”
The Eagles’ morale and faith is what propels them through games. Without maximum effort, it’s just potential, but when the group puts out their most, that is what makes them an immovable force like in the beginning of the season.
The score may show a downfall, but for the Eagles, it’s a signal of how much work they need to add next week.
“As a whole, I think we did pretty well,” Collin Scism (11) said. Though the performance wasn’t as good as it could have been, there is still room to appreciate the group effort of the team. The Eagles have the grit and confidence they need, the only thing they lack is applying that on the field a little more.
There’s nothing that creates more anticipation than after the Eagles lose a game, because you know they can bounce back if they put in the work.
Next week the Eagles go up against the Washington Bluejays, which are 1-4. With the odds in favor of the Eagles, the game will be an aggressive and hopefully successful matchup.
