The Eagles had a resilient revival on Friday, playing hard and showing out. The players brought the energy and the determination they needed in order to secure a 42-20 victory Friday night in Washington against the Blue Jays.
In the first quarter, victory was already ours. The first touchdown was made with 9:10 on the clock, and that was just the warm up. Once the group got more and more aggressive on the field, the results reflected on the scoreboard.

“I think we executed a lot of things very well tonight,” Garret Lant (11) said, reflecting on the game. The team’s headspace was determination, and in the end that motivation is what resurrected our winning streak. Prior to the win, the Eagles had lost two games in a row.
Past the second quarter and after halftime, the second string comes out due to the Eagles already having a 42-0 lead. After that, the Blue Jays get more offensive and gained 20 points over the course of the rest of the game. Despite this combative influx, our team still stood strong and soar.
The momentum of the game is what made way for the Eagles’ success. As stated earlier, energy and motivation play a large role in winning and losing. Winning requires a lot of determination and confidence whereas losing involves not having enough motivation.
Another factor in securing a victory is camaraderie, which is the Eagles’ forte. With the win, the Eagles improve to 4-2 and travel to Zumwalt East (2-4) on Oct. 10. Washington falls to 1-5.

“We all played well and I’m proud of my whole team,” Christian Martin (12) said. The most beneficial thing about a team is togetherness, without it, it would just be a group.
On Friday, it’s our space on the field. Filled with victory and strength, our team has the flare it needs to continue soaring.
