Here is all the information you will need for tonights event, The Student’s Town Hall.
What:
The Student’s Town Hall, previously the Wentzville School District Board of Education Town Hall, is an 100% student-led town hall event aimed at building transparent relationships between students, constituents, and school board candidates within the Wentzville School District. The WSD, a school district located in St. Charles County, Missouri, is often named as one of the state’s fastest-growing school districts. Over 17,600 students are currently enrolled in the WSD.
Since its conception in 2021, this event has always been held in March, coinciding with the annual election for the Wentzville School District Board of Education and other local elected positions in early April.
Our goal is to allow our school board candidates to introduce themselves, explain their platforms, and answer questions from our community. It is important to note that The Student’s Town Hall is not a district-sponsored event and is produced by Liberty High School students in the LHS Publications program.

Why:
The United States has low voter turnout, even in general elections, compared to other countries. Although the majority of elected officials in the United States serve in local government, voter turnout for local and municipal elections is extremely low, compared to the typical 60% reported for General Elections. St. Charles County, the county where the WSD is located, is no exception, with the voter turnout of the April 8, 2025, election, where WSD BOE candidates were on the ballot, being just 13%. While we cannot sync municipal and federal elections, like some experts have suggested in order to raise voter turnout, we hope that events like The Student’s Town Hall will combat some of the issues associated with low voter turnout: misinformation, disinformation and voter apathy.
