The recent heat continues to affect outdoor sports including the varsity football team. They have been practicing this week as early as 5 a.m.

With the record-breaking heat that has been happening across the country, and in Missouri, the first varsity football game of the season has been delayed.

This game was planned to be an away against Timberland High School at 7 p.m. and has now been rescheduled to 8:30 p.m. due to temperatures that will reach triple digits. Friday’s high forecast is 101 degrees, according to The Weather Channel.

Other schools within the district, including Holt and North Point, have rescheduled their football games to Aug. 26.  Holt will be playing at Troy High School at 7 p.m., and North Point will be facing Francis Howell North at Francis Howell Central High School at 11 a.m.
