Getting it done both in the classroom and on the field can be hard for people to handle, but Christian Martin would not let one overpower the other. Martin knows that his family and God are with him every step of the way, and that is a reason it’s easier for him to excel in both knowing he has their support on his side. Football is a big part of Christian; he has made countless friends and memories, and is also committed to playing college football at Lakeland University in Wisconsin.
āAlong with making a lot of friends, I developed so much as a player, and that has gotten me to where I am today, but I also used to not even like football. I was a basketball player for a long time,” Martin said.
This shows that changes can be good for all parties. Martin didnāt at all expect to ever play football, saying he didnāt have the right body build and never saw any interest, but God has a path for every single person, and this is the ride that Martin is on, and he is all for it.Ā
Along with all his football success it has come with some very low points and Martin leaning on none other than his very special Grandpa.Ā
āMy grandpa never cared how low the times were, how much I’ve been doubted, or how low of confidence Iāve had, he was always the one that kept things positive and had every ounce of belief in me,” Martin said.
This was a huge part of Martin’s story and how he got to where he is now. As he reflects on his time in high school, he would much rather be remembered for his good deeds rather than the football player he became.Ā
āI would much rather be known as the kid who was always a kind warm hearted person, who would always light people’s day up and make them smile,” Martin said. “That is way more important to me than people knowing me as a great football player.”
