Everyone has a safe space where they can truly express themselves. For Ava Weatherford that space is in the garage working on cars. Weatherford grew up working with her dad in the garage. The garage has shaped Weatherford into who she is today.
“It definitely made me stronger as a person, physically and mentally,” Weatherford said. “It’s given me a lot of perspective over a bunch of things.”
For Weatherford, the garage is associated with peace and safety because of her father’s guidance and their overall bond. Many of her passions and goals have stemmed from the garage; however, they tie into her daily life.
Weatherford tries to live in the moment and take life day by day. Her mindset is owed to a quote from the movie The Fast and the Furious: “I live my life a quarter mile at a time.”
By living in the moment, Weatherford tries to stay present and not worry about the future too much.
