When you’re a senior, staying on top of your studies can be very difficult, but in the end it’s necessary. Staying motivated can be hard, but Micki Morris has found ways of staying on top of it.
“My main motivation right now is that I’m career-driven,” Morris said. She is looking to go to Savannah College of Art and Design so she knows that if her grades start to slip that acceptance letter could be stripped away.
Morris has built a piece of advice for herself from snippets of sentences from drama, creating the phrase, “You may be a really good orange but we really need apples right now.” This reminds her that what people say doesn’t define her. It also helps her to remember that she can be great at something, but sometimes, she is not what they are looking for, and that’s okay.
When she is struggling with her passions, she reminds herself of how there will be better days ahead, and she just needs to get to them.
