Destruction. Prejudice. Chaos. Confusion. Aggression. Lawlessness. These are the values that are now commonplace in America. This is America. And it is unlike something that I have ever recognized. I have never seen anything like this. And contrary to what Donald Trump said in his speech to Americans on Feb. 24, the state of the union is fragile. The state of the union is weak. The state of the union is crumbling under massive amounts of unprecedented corruption, and falling prey to a system that has been shaped to only cater to the “Epstein class.”
Ruby Simmons, a prolific writer, expressed what she thought the current state of the union is.
“The state of the union is weak right now because we have immigrants and even Americans that are afraid to go to work or school, and everyday citizens that are just trying to look out for their neighbors,” Simmons said. “ICE is also utilizing brutal deportation tactics and we have children who are afraid that their parents might not be coming home. The economy is suffering as well because we don’t have some of these individuals that are working the jobs that support our economy and that we think we’re too privileged to do.”
Furthermore, the American people have been left behind in this government, cast aside by this president. It’s like they see our cry for help and the Americans living in times of utter desperation, and then just turn a blind eye to our suffering. Are they really that out of touch with Americans that they cannot see our suffering? Or do they just truly have no idea about what’s going on in America because they are constantly surrounded by million dollar jets and ballrooms with gold drapes?
Moreover, this administration has no connection to the American people because they have never had to suffer, they’ve never had to face any hardships. They have never had to work for what they have like most everyday Americans. And they have surely never had to face any type of discrimination or obstacles in their path that are preventing them from accomplishing their goal. Instead, they have had everything handed to them in life and profited exponentially off of that White privilege.
Simmons also explained how Trump and MAGA Republicans are disconnected from the American people.
So no, Trump and MAGA Republicans could never begin to understand the struggles of the American people and they don’t care to. It makes Americans feel like they don’t care because they see prices rising and the economy working against Americans, and then they just lie to us and say that prices are down, that the economy is thriving. But Americans know firsthand that this is simply not true. And they know that this is not true because Americans can not afford even the most simple necessities and this reflects directly on the failures of our government policies.
Many Americans cannot afford to pay their rent, to pay their mortgage, or even to just buy a house. Americans cannot afford to pay their electricity bill, their car bill. Americans cannot afford to buy groceries, and pay for things like eggs. Americans cannot afford healthcare and medical treatment. Americans cannot afford childcare. Americans cannot afford to live and that is outrageous. It is outrageous that it is so hard for Americans to live in our country and make a living to support their families. It is outrageous that almost two – thirds (62% – 67%) of American consumers are living from paycheck to paycheck according to PYMNTS.
Nevertheless, this is just an issue that should not be happening, and we should have never allowed it to happen or compound to this scale. But instead of making efforts to solve this issue, the president just continues to pretend like “affordability” is a foreign concept made up by “radical leftists.” In any event, Americans are not buying this and are beginning to see this administration for what it really wanted to accomplish: giving tax breaks to rich White 1% while trying to make life increasingly harder for everyday Americans.
And along with not being able to afford to live in this economy, Americans have to deal with all of the actions made by this president in order to distract them from the bad conditions in their daily lives and just dismantle our entire democracy and order. Firstly, we have a president who constantly discriminates against Americans and is prejudiced towards those that are different from him. I mean, on his first day as president, he terminated the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program (DEI), which had been quite literally working to include all Americans who were treated differently by society, and instead, create an America where people were not judged upon their differences, but by the content of their character.
In addition to that, these groups of people in America were marginalized, ridiculed in society, looked down upon by their peers, just for simply being different. And for things they can not control, for having the bravery to speak up and challenge the status quo. Also, not only is this not fair but it’s not right. It is not right that someone could just look at the color of another person’s skin, and determine them to be inferior. It is not right that someone can look at the gender of another person and dictate what their role should be and that their position should always be under a man but never equal. It is not right that someone can somehow determine what someone’s sexual orientation is and then decide that they don’t even deserve to exist, just because they don’t love the same gender that you do.
What’s worse is that we’ve not only just stopped celebrating these Americans, we’ve completely turned our backs on them. We’ve turned our backs on African Americans. We’ve turned our backs on women. We’ve turned our backs on LGBTQIA+ Americans. And it’s completely unacceptable. We have no excuse for why we allowed this type of person to come to power and instead, we just have to own our wrongdoings. We’ve made our bed and now we have to lie in it because this is effectively a mess of our own doing.
Americans have somehow let a person to not only just come to power but ascend to the highest level possible in our country that thinks it’s okay to post an AI generated picture on social media that depicts the heads of the only Former African American President, Barack Obama, and First Lady, Michelle Obama, on the body of apes.
Just think about that.
I cannot believe that this has happened. It is brazenly racist and utterly disgusting. I am appalled that we have a president that behaves like this. And I have never been more ashamed to call myself American. I mean, the President of the United States put the heads of the historic First African American President and First Lady on the bodies of apes, of primates, and basically said that all Black people are no better than animals. This is the most demeaning and disrespectful thing you could ever do to a Black person and it sent shockwaves across America. This president has absolutely no class and no decorum and is a complete disgrace to the office of the President of the United States of America.
I mean, the conditions in America are so bad that we have to have Democratic representatives like Al Green hold up signs during the State of the Union to remind Americans that Black people should never be compared to or belittled to such an extent that they are thought of to be as low as apes because they are human beings and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
On day one, Donald Trump also pardoned all of the January 6 insurrectionists that he encouraged to ransack the Capitol, threaten the life of his Vice President, and assault police officers, even leading to the deaths of some. And this was all because he lost the 2020 presidential election.
Cassandra Walker, the former Manager of Labor Relations for the United States Postal Service (USPS), indicated what she thought about this great pardoning of capital rioters by the President.
On top of that, Trump’s Administration has made it a point to target, arrest, and prosecute journalists, simply for just reporting on a story. And legacy newspapers like the Washington Post have fired over 30% of their journalists and overhauled entire sections of their publication in order to appease the President. Additionally, Trump has also gotten late – night talk show hosts fired just because they are critical of him.
Walker also explained what she thought about this attack on journalists and media.
Not to mention, Trump is deploying rogue Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents into American cities that are kidnapping immigrants and American citizens in broad daylight, ramming their cars, body slamming them into the ground and using their children as human bait, and sending them to concentration camps that are reported to be in awful conditions, all just because they are hispanic. Some American citizens have even been shot and killed because they were brave enough to stand up and protest against these injustices and tried to help people in their time of need.
Walker conveyed what she felt about Trump’s ruthless deportation tactics as well.
“Firstly, ICE, or at least the way it’s operating right now, should not exist because we already had a security system in place. We just needed to tweak the original system,” Walker said. “I also think that ICE was created so that the president could have dishonest, ruthless, agents of chaos that would be willing to do anything necessary to advance his agenda.”
Along with that, Trump and MAGA Republicans have also threatened our sacred elections and democratic processes, are trying to find fraud that doesn’t exist, and do not want every American’s vote to be counted.
So again, no the state the union is not strong and the country in utter disarray. However, Americans are resilient and we will continue to protest this administration and fight tooth and nail to protect the rights that we deserve. This is an unprecedented time in U.S. history and our actions will be remembered. So like I’ve said before, look around and assess yourself to make sure that you are on the right side of American history because there will come a time when it will be too late.
Lastly, Simmons gave advice and premonitions for the future.
