Name: Nate Summers

Sport: Varsity Football

Grade: 12th

Star Stats: 2 tackles, 2 tackles for loss yards, 7 assisted tackles

Why did you start this sport: Everybody told me that I would be good at linemen.

Pre-game ritual?: I don’t have one.

Best memory ever from the sport: Just overall playing it.

Proudest moment in the sport: Playing it.

Biggest motivation: My grandpa.

Are you planning to do this sport in the future/college: No.

How do you stay focused when you’re under pressure: Just breathe and relax.

What advice would you give to someone starting this sport: Keep your head and work harder than everybody else.

What is the most rewarding part about being an athlete in your sport: Walking off the field with nothing injured.

What’s so different about you being an athlete compared to other athletes?: I try to work my hardest wherever I go.

Your donation will support the student journalists of Liberty High School. For the 2025-26 school year, we are trying to purchase additional cameras and video equipment for our growing media program. We also plan to attend the national journalism conference in Orlando in November 2026.

Stella Nguyen, Reporter
Stella Nguyen is a freshman and this is her first year of Publications at Liberty. She was in Student Council for her last two years of middle school and is CPR certified. She plays travel flag football and wants to work in sports media and managing. You might see her capturing athletes on the field, interviewing and getting media from them. She is looking forward to these next four years of her life in and out of school.

MaryKate Stroud is a junior, and this is her second year in Publications. MaryKate is one of the  managers for girls Varsity Basketball. MaryKate is also the President for FCCLA, apart of Light House Leadership Team and National Honor Society. MaryKate enjoys doing sports photography and traveling. MaryKate currently works at Kinetic Park. MaryKate plans on going to college after high school and is currently indecisive on where she wants to go, but she knows that she wants to go for broadcasting and human resources.
