Every year every team changes, it doesn’t matter what sport it is. Liberty soccer has been on a tear in recent years winning four of the last five district championships but never making it past the state quarterfinal match. It’s not easy being a student-athlete and achieving at the highest level in both sports and academics.
Here are two different approaches on succeeding in both school and soccer.
James Nahpakorn (11) has been on a sensational run to start this year in both school and in soccer, his grades are great and always aims to keep them high and has taken on a huge spot on our varsity team scoring five goals already this season.
“My grades are something that motivates me to be the best of myself.” Naphakorn said. “I like to get all my school work done in school so I don’t fall behind, but also so I can be the best of myself at soccer and not have to worry about school.”
Coming off a hot start to this season, this idea of his seems to be working quite well and hopefully Naphakorn can keep it up as the season goes on.

Kaelen Homar (10), an underclassman on varsity, is quite the deal but the playing time hasn’t all come his way yet. But who’s to say he won’t earn it and get the chance to play.
Homar is coming off a great freshman year both in the classroom and on the soccer field.
“My motivating factor and what keeps me going to do so well is my mom,” Homar said. His mom is his number one supporter and pushes him to do all so well. Homar gets good grades as he aims to make his mom proud.
“I like to procrastinate, but I never have late work I just will do it later,” Homar said. That aside doesn’t get in his way to do so well when soccer comes around. Let’s hope to see Homar keep it up in both school and soccer and hopefully his chance will come to prove to all what he is capable of.
