In high school, it remains the norm for many students to keep to their own group. Some students keep to themselves, while others stay strong with just the same 5 friends they know. It isn’t necessarily a bad thing for students to stick with who they know, but for Lexi Davis (10), it’s a different story.
A leader, an activist, and the life of the party, are all names you could call Davis. But she also has many other interests in her character.
“I like to hangout with my best friend, Jayden Pelphrey (10), and I go to Taco Bell a lot. I like going on drives, and just going to random places.” Davis said. Her most common weekend plans are spending time with her friends and going out to eat, which is always a fun time, so it is no surprise how easy it is to get along with her. “I wrestle, but got a concussion in November. At first, I really enjoyed wrestling and all the people in wrestling, but ever since my concussion I’ve had bad experiences, and I truly think we all just need to come together and be kind to each other,” Davis states, disappointedly. It shows her character to hear that even through hate that she has received from teammates, she still stays strong to her kind morals.
She further discusses how kindness affects her life, and why she believes others should stay genuine and kind.
“I’ve noticed a lot of people say that they’re genuine, and that they would never make fun of anyone else, but I always hear people making fun of people who don’t need to be made fun of,” Davis said. “We could be focusing on such

bigger things.”
Shifting to a more serious and opinionated topic, she discusses how she sees others. And while other students say one thing and do another, Davis proves to be genuinely herself, and genuinely kind to all those around her. She continues to support this claim. “I’ve been bullied before, and so whenever I see someone get bullied I put myself in their shoes, and I just think everyone deserves kindness.”
Davis adds that she is a big advocate for mental health, and thinks that if we are focusing on other negatively, we aren’t ever getting anywhere.
Beyond just a kind smile, Lexi Davis is also an activist for various matters- especially those relevant in our world today.
“I feel strongly against I.C.E. I think America is built off of immigrants, and it’s literally known for being a ‘melting pot’ because there are so many cultures and different people. So when people say they want to kick immigrants out, even if they are citizens and belong here, I think it’s ironic.”
Davis continues her claim politely yet sternly, speaking up against many political moments that occur today.
“Even more, if we are going to talk about people that we shouldn’t have in this country, then really we shouldn’t have a man with federal charges as our leader.”
Taking direct examples of things she stands against, Davis is proud to support what she stands for, and isn’t afraid who hears it.
Time and time again, not just for this news article, but also coming from her peers, Davis proves that she is a rightful girl, who stands by her morals, and opinions – taking them into the real world and shining bright through those around her. Whether she is making an outsider feel included, showing out to stand for what is right, or just brightening someone’s day, it is easy to say that Davis is a truly great person of Liberty.
