Ava Schmuker is motivated by her parents to be her best self. Schmuker’s parents help to keep her on track and stay put together. Her relationship with her parents has not always been strong. During her freshmen year, she struggled to keep her grades up. At this time in her life, her parents tended to yell at her about keeping her grades up.
Looking back on her time in high school, Schmucker wishes that she had been more outgoing, and had worked harder to keep her grades up.
“Try your best because it will get you farther than you know,” Schmuker would say to her younger self.
Her parents not only have pushed her to do her best, but also the most useful skill she has: being nice to everyone. The phraseĀ āBe treated how you want to be treatedā was a piece of advice that Schmuker’s parents often said to her growing up.Ā Ā
