When you enter high school, you are suddenly asked what you want to do with the rest of your life. Some may find their passion from the monetary attributes of careers, others find it for the peace of mind, Kaylee Skinner finds it in the natural kindness of others.
“I want to be a nurse, then eventually a paramedic. I want to help people and bring out the best in them,” Skinner said. “Even the meanest person has a sliver of good in them.”
She builds her philosophy around assisting and being a good person to others, and furthermore, showing people sympathy and compassion.
Being altruistic is a skill that not many have, and it’s one of the most important traits a person could have. As you can see with Skinner, morality takes you as far as the empathy in someone’s heart, and then further.
