Amparo Tapia-Callbera (10) believes one of the most important parts of his life is his friendship with others.
“Making friends will always be valuable. You become a better person and get used to all different kinds of people by just being friendly,” Tapia-Caballero said.
Friendship stems into parts of Tapia-Caballero’s life outside of school. He works at Town Square Pub and Grub as a dishwasher.
“You are going to have to work with everyone in a restaurant so it’s better to know them,” Tapia-Caballero said.
Along with building friendship into work, he utilizes his people skills with soccer. Tapia-Caballero was the starting goalie for the soccer C-team this year, and out on a soccer field friendship can bring the whole team closer. He credited being the goalie makes him feel like the glue for the team. Without the goalie, the team would fall apart.
Tapia-Caballero’s friends, Anthony Caamano (10) and Jack Albertson (10), love spending time with him. This is because he knows how to make every moment fun.
“There’s never a dull moment with him. He’ll always say something to make us laugh,” Caamano said.
Tapia-Caballero makes being friendly an important part of his life in and out of school.
“I think we’d all be a little happier if we were all more friendly,” Tapia-Caballero said.
