A girl’s first love is her father. Madelyn McIntyre (9) has always played a big role in her life, not just as a father but as a friend too. From a young age, he has been someone she could laugh with, talk to, and rely on.

Madelyn said that “Growing up, some of my favorite memories include spending time outdoors with him, especially going fishing and hunting together.” Those moments, along with sleepovers with her cousins and playing with her dog, are memories she holds close and cherishes.

As a freshman, Madelyn said that she “sometimes struggles with staying focused on schoolwork, but she truly wants to do better and improve.” During those moments, her dad continues to support her and remind her that she is capable of more than she thinks. His encouragement helps her keep going, even when things feel overwhelming. Madelyn also deeply cares about the environment and hopes others will learn to care too, something that grew from spending time outside with her dad.

If Madelyn could travel anywhere in the world, she would choose the Bahamas, a place her dad has been to and often describes as beautiful and peaceful. Hearing him talk about it makes her dream of seeing it with her own eyes one day. Overall, Madelyn’s relationship with her father is built on love, support, and shared memories. Knowing that her dad has always been there for her gives Madelyn comfort and confidence as she continues to grow.
