We never know how much or how little our lives will change throughout high school. For Brett Hertzenberg, one could say it changed drastically, or at least his motivations did.
For his freshman and sophomore year, Hertzenberg recalls not giving as much effort to academics, with a lower work ethic and attendance. However, in recent years, Hertzenberg’s mindset has changed. While working at Men’s Warehouse and putting as much effort as possible into his studies, he learned something about himself: He finally had a reason for the attitude shift.
“I went from a GPA of like, a 1, to a 4.0 my junior year. And I’ve been trying to figure out what changed. I think the reason is I gave myself a plan and a purpose, finally knowing I wanted to pursue being an accountant and living in my dream city, Chicago,” Hertzenberg said.
