Why did you start this sport: My parents played soccer when they were kids all through high school and college. They thought I should get into it and I’ve been playing it for 10 years now. I started football because my friends said I should start playing kicker for the team.
Pre-game ritual?: I drink lots of water and pray to God before every game.
Best memory ever from the sport: Soccer would be going to USL Academy Cup about a year and a half ago; We won that with my club team and it was just a super fun trip. Football would be winning the Super Bowl last year in eighth grade.
Proudest moment in the sport: For football it would be when after I missed the first two kicks of high school, I’ve gone 10 for 11 since and soccer would be when I made my first field goal.
Biggest motivation: My mom. She’s played soccer forever and always helps me be the best version of myself. Even with football she doesn’t know much about it but she’s always supporting me.
Are you planning to do this sport in the future/college: Yeah, I don’t know about college, but for these four years of high school I will be playing football and soccer.
How do you stay focused when you’re under pressure: I talk to the Lord and tell myself to stay relaxed.
What advice would you give to someone starting this sport: Trust the process and know that you’re not going to be the best in the world right away. You’ve got to try your best.
What is the most rewarding part about being an athlete in your sport: After a win, you can hangout with your teammates and celebrate together.
What’s so different about you being an athlete compared to other athletes?: I like to think I am like most athletes except I play four sports.
